When we look to our brothers and sisters we find them. We find there too God. A God who sanctifies his people through their love, and our love also.
We are not the lost souls that our leaders would have us think. Rather the boot is on the other foot, and humanity can go down the road that leads to the Kingdom of God, are going down the road which leads to the Kingdom of God, and they can, if they wish, continue on the road which leads to perdition.
So be it. They are not us. And we are not them.
We belong to God. They belong, if they so choose to the devil.
There is a distinction between them and us. And we must never blur the lines of that distinction, lest we imperil our own lives.
