Deadly Marriage? The Dems’ Disastrous Refusal to Divorce the “Trans” Lobby

When the history of our time is finally written, assuming there’s someone around to write it (AI?), one can imagine how the historians may interpret the Democrats’ obsession with pseudo-sex-switching.

“They believed boys could become girls merely by wishing it, and they persecuted those deviating from this orthodoxy.”

“It’s why the Democratic Party died.”

And the Democrats are wedded to it with, seemingly, “Till death do us part” devotion.

MUSS Albatross

Noting this, commentator Ned Cosby wrote Wednesday that the Democrats have a “transgender albatross problem.” Citing Kamala Harris as an example, he asserts that this issue “sank” her “and continues to sink the Democrats.” He then elaborated, reminding us that Donald Trump’s campaign

team used archived footage of the extremist left-wing VP sitting for an interview with a man posing as a woman.

In the interview, Harris claimed that she supported taxpayer-funded sex-change operations for California inmates desiring such procedures. Trump’s campaign created a 30-second ad where Harris calls for taxpayers to pay for “sex-change” surgery for California inmates desiring to appear physically as women [video below].

Cosby then continued:

The widely watched ad divided the Democrat coalition of voters and independent voters. Even [somewhat liberal] Charlamagne tha God … denounced the idea of taxpayers paying for such outrageous surgical procedures. Just recently, a federal district judge ordered the Indiana prison system to provide “sex-change” surgery for a man who murdered a baby.

Also relevant here is a bill the Colorado House Democrats just passed. Outrageously, it would empower the government to, in custody decisions, seize a child from a parent who refuses to “affirm” the kid’s MUSS delusions. These stories and others like them make many conclude that this is a hill Democrats are willing to die on. But is this really true? (Like water, politicians ultimately take the shape of the vessel in which they find themselves.)

And even if they continue defending it, will they die on it?

A Confused Populace

It may be no mystery why the Democrats, save California governor Gavin Newsom, persist in thoroughly embracing the MUSS agenda. A 2023 Public Religion Research Institute study found that only 44 percent of Democrats believe “there are just two genders.” (The proper word is “sex,” do note.) No, this doesn’t necessarily mean 56 percent support extreme MUSS positions such as putting boys in girls’ locker rooms. But consider that no small number of Democratic activists and voters are radical sexual devolutionaries. Also consider that many or most Democrats are apparently confused about the human sexual binary. What does it all add up to?

The “moderate Democrats” likely won’t have the passion and will to hold sway over the radicals.

Of course, note that President Trump won a handful of swing states by two percent of the vote or less. It’s reasonable, too, concluding that voter disgust at the Democrats’ MUSS trespasses could’ve accounted for this difference. Yet note something else as well:

Had the vote been slightly different in those states, Trump would have lost.

And since many factors are in play in elections, others also could account for two-plus percent of the vote. For example, imagine the Democrats had nominated an effective candidate and not Kamala “Word Salad” Harris. Would they have won the White House despite their MUSS machinations? It’s a sobering thought.

Realize, too, that in states such as California, Colorado, New York, and Illinois, the MUSS agenda marches on with at least tacit voter approval.

Many will now say that in conservative states, and nationally, there has been anti-MUSS pushback. But is its rationale truly encouraging?

Perspective

Consider: The MUSS agenda has harmed millions of children physically and/or psychologically. For instance, unfortunate teens such as Nathaniel, Milo (last names withheld), and Chloe Cole suffered irreversible body mutilation. We also hear of clusters of girls from the same schools entering “gender” clinics seeking MUSS sexual distortion treatments. (Obviously a social-contagion issue.) And millions of other children become confused about the sexual binary, a basic reality and division in nature.

And, for shame, we adults have allowed this to happen.

What’s more, what is the current “great pushback”?

A complaint that girls are losing sporting opportunities to MUSS boys. In fact, this is virtually always the only thing “conservative” anti-MUSS legislation addresses.

Now, some perspective. Imagine your young son no longer wants to participate in lacrosse. You then learn the tragic reason why: His coach sexually abused him.

Would your only evident concern be that your boy was missing a sporting opportunity?

At the end of the day, athletics is frivolity. And it’s quite striking, and damning, that the sole reason the MUSS agenda has lost this one battle is that it bumped up against another left-wing agenda: the feminist one, with its girls-in-sports imperative.

There’s a reason why director Mel Gibson cleverly portrayed Satan androgynously (i.e., MUSS-like) in 2004’s The Passion of the Christ. (Video below.) The sexual binary is not just a basic division in nature, but is also often considered divinely ordained.

The main reason to oppose evil is, ever and always, because it’s evil. The main reason to uphold and defend Truth is because it’s Truth. Until we apply this to the MUSS agenda, it will be an albatross around our civilization’s neck. But, hey, I guess that at least we can still play ball.
