Almost 75,000 cases of veggie burgers recalled for possible bolt contamination

The Fillo Factory Inc. of Northvale, NJ, is recalling three Chef’s Line US Foods products—Black Bean Burger, 3 Grain Burger, and 3 Grain Slider— because of possible contamination with foreign material, specifically a bolt.

The recall encompasses a total of 74,514 cases of frozen burger and slider products distributed to Illinois, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Delaware.

The recall was initiated on Feb. 12, 2025, and remains ongoing, according to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Classified as a Class II event, the risk of serious health consequences is low, but temporary or reversible effects are possible.

Consumers and businesses should not consume, sell or distribute the recalled products and to check their inventories for the affected lot codes.

About foreign object concerns
The presence of a bolt in food products poses risks such as choking, dental damage, or internal injury if ingested. Although classified as Class II, indicating a low risk of severe outcomes, consumers experiencing any adverse effects should consult a healthcare professional immediately.
