Nearly 900 cases of Coca-Cola recalled because of plastic contamination
Reyes Coca-Cola Bottling, LLC, based in Milwaukee, WI, is recalling 864 12-count packs of Coca-Cola Original Taste because of potential contamination with foreign material, specifically plastic.
The recall was initiated on March 6, 2025, and remains ongoing, according to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The recall is classified as a Class II event, meaning the risk of serious health consequences is low, but temporary or reversible effects are possible.
The recalled products were distributed to Illinois and Wisconsin.

Consumers and businesses should not consume, sell or distribute the recalled Coca-Cola products and should check their inventories for the affected date code and time stamp.
About foreign object concerns
The presence of plastic in beverages poses risks such as choking, oral injury, or gastrointestinal discomfort if ingested. Though classified as a Class II recall, indicating a low probability of severe health outcomes, consumers experiencing any adverse effects should seek medical attention promptly.
