This commemorative coin, minted by the Mikdash Educational Center in Israel, symbolizes what some see as a prophetic link between Trump’s political actions and the biblical role of King Cyrus in Jewish history. But what is the significance of this coin, and how does it relate to the long-anticipated rebuilding of the Third Temple in Jerusalem?

Let’s begin by understanding the role that King Cyrus played, which resulted on him being on this temple coin.

King Cyrus of Persia is a pivotal figure in biblical history. In the 6th century B.C., after conquering Babylon, Cyrus issued a decree allowing the Jewish exiles to return to Jerusalem and rebuild their destroyed temple. His actions are recorded in the Book of Ezra:

“Thus saith Cyrus king of Persia, The Lord God of heaven hath given me all the kingdoms of the earth; and he hath charged me to build him an house at Jerusalem, which is in Judah.” – Ezra 1:2 (KJV)

Cyrus is remarkable because, although he was not Jewish, he was used by God to fulfill prophecy. The prophet Isaiah had foretold his role about 150 years before he was even born, referring to him as God’s “anointed” (Isaiah 45:1). This earned him a place of honor in Jewish history as a leader who facilitated the rebuilding of the Temple and the restoration of worship in Jerusalem. Helping the Jews rebuild the 2^nd temple in Israel… humm. Ok, that makes sense as to why he would be included on this temple coin. But why Trump? Why is he being placed next to King Cyrus on this coin?

Fast forward to modern times, and some see a parallel between King Cyrus and President Donald Trump. It was he, President Trump that announced the recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel in 2017. This move, which led to the U.S. Embassy’s relocation from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, was seen by many as a significant step in fulfilling biblical prophecy.

Alright, so this fits into biblical prophecy. This passage suggests that Jerusalem will be a center of spiritual authority in the last days. Isaiah 2:2-3 (KJV) – Jerusalem as the Center of Worship
“And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the Lord’s house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it. And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.”

There are some groups, particularly among evangelical Christians and certain Jewish communities, who speculate that President Donald Trump may play a role in facilitating the rebuilding of the Third Temple in Jerusalem.
