You have fallen for the false, fake, EZ salvation doctrine that Jesus, Paul, Peter, Jude, and John all warned against. The vast majority of Christians in these last days have also, EXACTLY as Jesus Christ said.
Satan has compartmentalized the Bible and created a modern “Christianity” that believes it can be saved by single verses; e.g., John 3:16, Rom 10:9, Rom 10:13, etc. It is a lie and a deadly deception.
You cannot take isolated verse(s) on salvation without considering EVERY, SINGLE, OTHER salvation verse alongside it. ALL the salvation verses in the Bible MUST harmonize.
When we do that, we will find the (one and only) true salvation doctrine of Jesus Christ: take up our OWN cross; enter the strait gate; walk the narrow way of JUDGMENT; continue to Calvary/to LIFE (Jesus Christ is life). Salvation comes ONLY at the END of the narrow way judgment walk for the believer.
QUESTION: Why is it, that the false prophets/preachers/teachers/pastors always select out–isolate–the verse(s) that fit their fake EZ. EZ, EZ, false “salvation” narrative?
Why don’t these “wells without water” ever isolate out THE FOLLOWING more DIFFICULT salvation verses, for example:
Hebrews 12:5-8:
And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him: (Heb 12:5)
For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth. (Heb 12:6)
If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not? (Heb 12:7)
But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons. (Heb 12:8)

Now, let’s rightly divide: look how Hebrews 12:5-8 HARMONIZES with the DIFFICULTY Jesus speaks of in:
Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: (Matt 7:13)
Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. (Matt 7:14)
And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me. (Luke 9:23)
Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able. (Luke 13:24)

Here is some simple logic that even a child can see (why can’t the modern Christian?):
The wide gate/broad way is the EZ way. Anyone who disputes this is reprobate.
“Sinner’s prayers;” “Just believe;” “faith-alone;” “Lay hold of John 3:16 (or Rom 10:9, 13 or WHATEVER);” Sabbath-keeping; etc. ARE ALL EZ ways.
They are ALL broad ways!! EZ ways !!
The common denominator of ALL of them is: no crosswalk for the believer. No strait gate. No narrow way. Therefore, NO CROWN OF ETERNAL LIFE, just as Jesus Christ plainly and clearly said.
So, why do so few DO it? Jesus tells us right at the beginning of Matt 7:14: because it is DIFFICULT. The salvation way of truth is DIFFICULT. In Luke 13:24 the Lord tells us it is so difficult that we must STRIVE to enter in at the strait gate.
How big a congregation would the false preachers/pastors have if they taught the above, true doctrine of Jesus Christ? Very FEW. They are in it for filthy lucre’s sake. But the congregation is not innocent. The people LOVE IT THIS WAY, wide gate and broad way. EZ!! I sat there for three years myself before the Lord dragged me out. He used the teaching linked above (“The Dark/Light”) to do it. It has helped others too.
I hope you will prove this out. You would not believe the muddy waters the modern Christian is swimming in.
