Immortal, Invisible…God Only Wise — Via the Wayfaring Gal (4/20/2025)

To God only wise, be glory through Jesus Christ for ever. Amen. (Rom 16:27)

For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed. (Mal 3:6)

Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever. (Heb 13:8)

One of the first things I do every morning, as I start my day, is to give praise, honor, and glory to my heavenly Father and to my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. For without them, I surely would have perished long ago.

During these Biblical end-times which I find myself living through, I feel a need to draw nearer to God and to deepen my search for Jesus more than ever before. With each day that goes by, I am one day closer to my physical death in this world and one day closer to the revelation of Jesus Christ before I die.

Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; (1Pet 1:13)

But even after all these years, I’m still not sure how to find the Lord.

Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. (John 5:39)
And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life. (John 5:40)

Walking the Narrow Way is most interesting, especially when you realize there is nothing you can really do to hasten the process; especially believing everything happens at its appointed time, as I’ve stated before.

It is God who calls us and who draws us to Christ. It is also only through Christ Jesus that we can come to God the Father.

No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day. (John 6:44)

And he said, Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it were given unto him of my Father. (John 6:65)

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. (John 14:6)

The latter verse is a very exclusive statement and puts us in a very tight spot with nowhere else to go.

John 6:66-68:

From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him. (John 6:66)
Then said Jesus unto the twelve, Will ye also go away? (John 6:67)
Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life. (John 6:68)

The Narrow Way is a process of stripping us down; and for the hidden, inner man to be revealed and judged, showing us the truth of ourselves; that we do not—and cannot—LOVE as we are commanded to do by Jesus; unless, and until, we are authentically BORN AGAIN.

John 3:3-8:

Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. (John 3:3)
Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb, and be born? (John 3:4)
Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. (John 3:5)
That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. (John 3:6)
Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. (John 3:7)

The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit. (John 3:8)

As a result of this Narrow Way process, and being born again/regenerated/quickened, we are then considered to be one who has OVERCOME, which Jesus referred to seven times at the end of each letter to the seven churches in the Book of Revelation. (Rev 2:7, 11, 17, 26; 3:5, 12, 21)…to him that overcometh. See also:

For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. (1John 5:4)

To OVERCOME is what is meant when we are told to fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life:

Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. (1Tim 6:12)

Strong’s definition of “fight” G75:

ἀγωνίζομαι agonizomai (a-ğō-niy’-zo-mai) v.

ἀγωνίζομαι

agōnizomai

ag-o-nid’-zom-ahee

From G73; to struggle, literally (to compete for a prize), figuratively (to contend with an adversary), or generally (to endeavor to accomplish something):—fight, labor fervently, strive.

Once again, the scriptures show us that salvation is not easy or instant like the false teachers and preachers say it is, with their so-called “ABC’s of salvation” and “sinner’s prayers” and “altar calls.”

Then came a time in my walk when I found myself stuck and couldn’t seem to go any further.  That’s when I believe a transition occurs, where the Spirit moves us to go and sit down in the lowest room.

Luke 14:8-10:

When thou art bidden of any man to a wedding, sit not down in the highest room; lest a more honourable man than thou be bidden of him; (Luke 14:8)
And he that bade thee and him come and say to thee, Give this man place; and thou begin with shame to take the lowest room. (Luke 14:9)
But when thou art bidden, go and sit down in the lowest room; that when he that bade thee cometh, he may say unto thee, Friend, go up higher: then shalt thou have worship in the presence of them that sit at meat with thee. (Luke 14:10)
For whosoever exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted. (Luke 14:11)

So I wait…with all the patience I can muster, day after day, week after week, and year after year as we are all commanded to do until the revelation of Jesus Christ; that time when Jesus says he will “manifest myself” to the believer.

John 14:18-23:

I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you. (John 14:18)
Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also. (John 14:19)
At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you. (John 14:20)
He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him. (John 14:21)
Judas saith unto him, not Iscariot, Lord, how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us, and not unto the world? (John 14:22)
Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. (John 14:23)

Oh, what a day that will be! …It is a PROMISE!
