Jesus - God is working in the affairs of man. Do not be afraid.

The phrase: “we are called to walk by faith, not by sight” (2 Corinthians 5:7), really means we wait for the ripe time to act until we are given (inside of ourselves) the right way to act. We are at Peace, not conflicted. As a little Scottish lady once told me, “What is for you won’t go by you.” There is a certain trust in faith which is missing when the personality pushes in and makes the decision on its own. The upwelling is not there, the right time is not present. It is the forced or agitated decision which messes things up, not the one which is made resting in the Lord (Psalm 37:7).

Jesus

Things appear to be out of control, but are they? Grocery shelves empty, people racing to ‘stock up’ fighting over toilet tissue, hoarding hand sanitizer… But are things really as bad as many would have us believe, are they as bad as they appear?  Scripture has much to say regarding times of trouble; ‘for man is born for trouble, as sparks fly upward (Job 5:7)’- ‘rejoice in hope, persevere in tribulation, devoted in prayer (Romans 12:12)’. Don’t let your heart be troubled, believe in God (John 14:1)’….and therein lies the problem.

Millions do not believe in God. As nation after nation see more and more the spread of CoVID19, and indeed these are the times that will try men’ souls, this must also be a time when the redeemed of the world, those redeemed by The Word, JESUS Christ, God’ perfect Lamb, take a stand and shine for the glory, honor and praise of our great God and King, and fight the good fight of faith. The choice is yours to make, a sheep or a goat. Which one will it be? God has spoken clearly and we must give heed to His Word: ‘Do not call to mind the former things, pay no attention to the things of old. Behold I am about to do something new, even now it is coming. Do you not see it? Indeed I will make a way in the wilderness and streams in the desert (Isaiah 43:18-19)’.

As believers, we are called to walk by faith, not by sight but all to often our faith is dimmed by the glaring reality of the problem at hand. God seems distance; we are confused, bewildered, frightened. Called to be children of the Light, we respond in fear; our light flickers and fades, snuffed out by hopelessness, doubt and despair. Fear takes over; ‘the mind reels, horror overwhelms. The twilight I longed for has been turned for me into trembling (Isaiah 21:4)’; reacting to circumstances we find ourselves frightened, fearful and faithless.

God is and will forever remain in control. Just because we do not always understand His ways does in no way mean He is not working in the affairs of man. A world wide ‘pandemic’ has certainly not escaped His watchful eye. Our omnipotent, omnipresent, omniscient God will make miracles out of the madness if only we His children will pray, repent, seek His face and keep standing on the promises of our God. These are exciting times; God is moving among His people – prepare, praise, repent, pray, ‘encourage each other all the more as you see the day approaching (Hebrews 10:25)’ and live in eager expectation of what our God is doing. Our God is faithful and just, righteous and holy and ‘He will carry out His sentence on earth with speed and finality (Romans 9:28)’. God is in control – heed His Word of Truth…

‘if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land (2 Chronicles 7:14)’.
