Chicago White Sox expected to call up their No. 6 overall prospect
The Chicago White Sox have finally embraced allowing their prospects to start playing in the big leagues, with Chase Meidroth being the first domino to fall. Meidroth was exceptional in his debut, showing off his ability to get on base.
The White Sox need all the help they can get and should start looking internally to find solutions. The White Sox, who have dealt with countless injuries, have prospects ready to go and deserve to be called up. Thankfully, they are doing so as yet another prospect is expected to debut for the White Sox.

According to MLB Pipeline, the White Sox are reportedly calling up their number six overall prospect, Edgar Quero, to the big leagues to make his Major League Debut after having a strong showing down at Charlotte.

Quero’s promotion is well deserved, as he’s hitting .333/.444/.412 with an OPS of .856 in 15 games with the Charlotte Knights. Quero in 51 at-bats has a home run, one double, and 11 walks. Quero was one of the key pieces to return to the White Sox when they traded Lucas Giolito and Reynaldo López to the Los Angeles Angels for Quero and Ky Bush.
Quero should get a good run while in the majors
Now that Quero will be up with the White Sox, he should see a good amount of playing time behind the plate, as the Sox are still without catcher Korey Lee. The White Sox currently have Matt Thaiss and Omar Narváez as the two catchers on their roster, but Quero’s promotion could signal the end of Narváez’s run with them.
Quero should be available for the last game of the series against the Athletics. If not, he will likely meet them in Boston when the Sox travel there to play the Red Sox.
