Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence
The European Union recently passed a law that will dramatically affect all the Western countries in a very negative way….but media? Crickets. The fact that the legacy media isn’t reporting on this is indicative of how dangerous our media has become.
This law will mandate ALL large companies doing business in the European Union comply with ESG regulations. For those who don’t know what ESG is, “E” stands for “Environmental” which means they have to comply with Climate change regulations & not use fossil fuels, the “S” stands for “Social” which means you have to hire based not on merit but minority, gender, color and accommodate their needs, the “G” stands for “Government” which means you must comply with government mandated lock downs, vaccines, etc.
That means, not only, APPLE, MICROSOFT, FORD, COKE, McDONALDS, KRAFT, FACEBOOK, X, ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, BOING, etc, etc. will have to abide by this law but so will any and all small businesses that do business with those companies. Even though the small suppliers don’t do business with the EU, they will have to comply with their law as well. These are suppliers who make parts, independent truck drivers who deliver supplies, janitors who clean their offices, bookkeeping companies, law firms who represent them, caterers who cater their meetings, etc.
Many of these suppliers are too small to afford to comply with this EU law, so, you want to know how the law deals with that? Well, the big Corporation they work for will be required to cover the costs….and guess what THAT will result in? Increased costs for their products passed on to you and me.
This law HAS BEEN SIGNED INTO LAW and is scheduled to go into effect in 2027. If Democrats stay in power the regulations of this law will be put in place right away to be ready to be enforced in 2027.
