Project 2025

I have a dear friend of more than 50 years. We were single Moms who navigated together being working Moms and dating. We drank wine and shared our hopes and dreams. When she met her second husband I designed and made her wedding dress. When I learned about Agenda 21 she was the first person I told. She came to Tea Parties to hear me speak about the threats to Western Civilization. She came to my non-profit, American Freedom Alliance, conferences. She came with me to tour the Reagan Ranch. And she would call me to ask who and what to vote for. When I moved to Arizona I was going to visit her at a rehab center where she was recovering from surgery but it was the day of the COVID lockdowns so she couldn’t have visitors. We’ve kept in touch on Facebook.

But then a few weeks ago she posted on Facebook a large picture of a crying Statue of Liberty with the slogan “No Matter Who, Vote Blue”. I stared at it. I wondered if I was misunderstanding. I looked at the comments and many were in agreement. I emailed her and asked what happened that she would vote for someone who was appointed not voted for. She asked if I knew about “Project 2025”? She said it would make Trump King and that I should watch CNN instead of FOX. I replied that, indeed, I knew about “Project 2025”, had read it, and there is nothing in it that makes anyone King. I said she knew me better than that. I listen to all sides and do my own research. I told her it wasn’t a Trump project, that Trump had nothing to do with it, but it also wasn’t what CNN was saying it was. It was a Heritage Foundation project. The Heritage Foundation is a conservative think tank and I get their newsletter every month. They would be the last organization to promote anything unconstitutional. Weeks later I sent her a video of a CNN talking head admitting “Project 2025” is not a Trump project and that they had “sort of” misquoted it. She didn’t reply. She isn’t speaking to me anymore. She blocked me on Facebook. This is the division the media has caused.

So, what IS Project 2025? Several of the “authors” are, indeed, Trump supporters. Among the authors are Dr. Ben Carson, Peter Navarro, and Stephan Moore….hardly anti-Constitution or anti-democracy advocates. They simply went through federal government branches and described how they could work more effectively. I have read through it, not word for word but I looked at the areas the ACLU and the media claim are so dangerous.

Let’s look at some of the claims:

It “guts abortion access”. No, actually, it simply says the abortion pill (available on line & over the counter in pharmacies) should be administered under a doctor’s care. Inducing a miscarriage is extremely painful and very possibly dangerous. Women are likely to take it later in pregnancy than recommended. There is nothing I found that prevented doctor assisted abortions.

“Mass Deportations”. Yes, there will be mass deportations. There were under Eisenhower and we can do it again. There needs to be. It isn’t cruel or unjust. We have had mass UNVETTED migration. There are extremely violent gangs, criminals, and terrorists as well as people who hate our culture and want to change it who need to be sent back to where they came from.

“Unleashes Undue Force on Protestors”. It depends on your definition of “undue force”. If it means stopping rioters from looting and burning cities, destroying police cars, attacking police, yes, that will be stopped. Police will no longer be ordered to simply stand by and watch. They will be allowed to stop it. YAY!

“Severally Limits Voting Access”. No, it limits voter fraud. The Left says anything that limits voter fraud is limiting voting rights. No, there is no “right” to vote more than once, vote for other people, vote for dead people, vote if you aren’t a citizen, vote in states you don’t live in, etc. The People (both parties) want to trust our elections. Mail-in ballots and ballot drop boxes are the best way to commit fraud. We need to go back to paper ballots, hand counting, and verified chain of custody.

“Censoring Critical Discussions in Classrooms”. Yes, it would stop the graphic sex education (how to masturbate) and gender discussions as well as teachers lying to parents about it. End Drag Queen story hour in schools. Protect parental rights.

“Rolls Back Trans Rights”. What ARE “Trans Rights”. Why should anyone have “rights” others don’t have? This doesn’t prevent people from transitioning. It promotes merit not gender, gay, or color.

The media has already demonized Project 2025 so no matter how wrong their characterization of it is, people believe it is evil….and even though they know Trump has nothing to do with it, they keep saying it is HIS project….and tragically too many believe it as my lifelong friend just proved to me.
