CTP (S2EMarSpeical11) Mar 2025 Music Weeks Wk 2 Ep 5: Music, Tv, Politics, reprise from 2023...

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

[This is now going to be my, every B4IN article, standard opening (as of Dec. 19, 2024):
I get it, I really do, all these outlets are operating as a business… And how do they make money? Advertising! (more continues: /media/2024/07/click-bait-here-click-bait-there-everywhere-click-bait-2515961.html )
Yes, sorry, frankly I TOO find especially the initial Ads (they pile up, to be able to get them viewed in case someone doesn't read the whole article) here interrupting a nice/natural Read flow and are ANNOYING (but it keeps the Site FREE FOR VIEWING no Pay Wall to have to BUY your way past) and conversely their annoyance may indeed keep some from wanting to bother (so, Please, there is some GREAT CONTENT here on B4IN, keep reading the entire pieces despite the annoying Ads) and note if you engage an AD BLOCKER often I have found it/they can cause issues with seeing all the intended article content --- don't want you to miss any of mine, nor anyone else who posts here entire content as intended! The authors images (some or all), videos (some or all), their intended cross-reference links (vs Site produced Ad links, the easy Share-At/On buttons, and more, might also get "blocked" from viewing. And so now, to catch any NEW Readers, I too adding to annoyance having to repeat this over and over. My apologies. I endeavor to always give you DETAILED WRITINGS (and cross-reference related links with other rabbit-holes you can go down) hopefully you'll deem worthy of putting up with the annoying Ads to engage in/with.
I am NOT fond of the changes, but I have been with B4IN a long time now - certainly not looking to leave.
Lastly, note: I also wrote for TheLibertyBeacon (https://www.thelibertybeacon.com/?s=Joseph+M+Lenard), where I dropped pieces (normally weekly) on Saturdays for the last 3 years (and even RedState back when) and now joined and dropping pieces via SUBSTACK (https://tinyurl.com/JLDonSubstack).]

March Music Weeks 2-5:

Exploring Music, Politics, and Pop Culture: Insights from CTP Podcast Episode 15

TLDR     In this episode of the ChristiTutionalist Politics podcast, host Joseph M. Lenard discusses music, politics, and pop culture with guest Michael Gardner. They delve into the Jason Aldean controversy, the relevance of classic TV shows, and the impact of recent films like Barbie and Oppenheimer on the entertainment landscape.

Welcome to the Constitutionalist Politics podcast, also known as CTP. I am your host, Joseph M. Lenard, and I appreciate you tuning in. Today, we dive into the intersection of music, politics, and pop culture in our ongoing series, Music Weeks.

Music Weeks has evolved significantly since its inception, expanding from a single week to multiple weeks filled with engaging content. This particular episode marks week two, episode five, and the tenth episode overall in our three-week series. Each week in March, we aim to drop episodes from Monday through Friday, providing listeners with a rich variety of discussions.

Episode Overview

In this episode, we revisit season 1, episode 15, of CTP Show, which focuses on music, television, and politics. I am joined once again by Michael Gardner, who brings his insights and opinions to the table. Before we dive into our discussion, I encourage you to like, subscribe, and share the podcast with friends and family to help grow our audience.

Weather and Location

As we begin our conversation, I check in with Michael, who is currently in Florida. He describes the weather as rainy and miserable, a stark contrast to the typical sunny Florida image. This sets a casual tone for our discussion as we transition into more serious topics.

The Jason Aldean Controversy

One of the first topics we tackle is the controversy surrounding country music artist Jason Aldean. Michael expresses his mixed feelings about Aldean, describing him as a hit-or-miss celebrity and a one-hit wonder in his eyes. He shares his preference for classic country artists like Willie Nelson over Aldean’s more modern style.

The discussion shifts to Aldean’s recent music video, which faced backlash for its portrayal of Black Lives Matter themes. Michael critiques the editing of the video, suggesting that it distorts the original message and highlights a broader issue of how dissenting opinions are labeled as racist or homophobic in today’s society. He questions when people will wake up to the nonsense surrounding these controversies.

Nostalgia for Classic TV Shows

Next, we reminisce about classic television shows, particularly the police drama “Adam 12.” I lament the lack of support for law enforcement in modern media and suggest that a revival of such shows could help restore respect for the rule of law. Michael shares his thoughts on shows he would like to see return, including “The Honeymooners,” “The Jeffersons,” and “The Jetsons.” He emphasizes how these shows instilled strong values and principles in their audiences.

The Impact of Recent Films

We then pivot to the recent box office phenomenon dubbed “Barbenheimer,” which refers to the simultaneous release of the films “Barbie” and “Oppenheimer.” Michael expresses his disdain for the Barbie movie, calling it a waste of production, while acknowledging that it has performed well at the box office. He shares his experience watching “Oppenheimer,” admitting that he left the theater early due to its slow pacing.

The conversation touches on the cultural implications of these films, particularly how they cater to specific audiences and the criticisms they face. We discuss the backlash against the Barbie movie and the contrasting reception of films like “Sound of Freedom” and the latest Indiana Jones installment, which some perceive as pandering to a woke agenda.

The State of American Manufacturing

As we wrap up our discussion, we touch on the topic of American manufacturing, particularly concerning Barbie dolls and other merchandise. Michael raises questions about where these products are made and the implications of labeling items as “assembled in the United States” when they are primarily produced overseas.

Conclusion

Before concluding, Joseph reminds listeners to check out his book, “Terror Strikes” available at bookstores worldwide and expresses gratitude for the audience’s support and encourage them to continue engaging with the podcast. Our discussions aim to provide substance over style, focusing on key political and cultural issues through a Christian, constitutionalist lens.

Thank you for tuning in to the Constitutionalist Politics podcast. Don’t forget to like, subscribe, and share our episodes to help us grow our community.
